Specific accountabilities

The incumbent is responsible for organizing, managing and validating the data used by the Office – North America business unit. He or she plans and coordinates the data updates and posts them in the various portfolio and corporate databases. The incumbent plays an advisory role in developing and improving the business unit's monitoring tools and leads IT projects in conjunction with other stakeholders. He or she analyses portfolio data and formulates recommendations to track portfolio risk and performance. In addition, he or she helps the team prepare and draft the unit's business and strategic plans.

Main duties include the following:

  • Continuously monitor the business unit's financial, performance and management data and oversee the quality, accuracy and consistency of portfolio information in accordance with the Company's standards and practices;
  • Plan, coordinate and optimize updates to financial data, the transfer of underwriting models and the monitoring of the business unit's management data using various databases (e.g., Global Fund, Datamart);
  • Analyze data and develop various reporting, analysis and dashboard tools to facilitate portfolio performance analysis;
  • Manage projects involving the development of electronic tools and databases; recommend solutions to problems encountered; track and report on work status in relation to requirements of the business unit and the IT team;
  • Prepare the reports required to review the business unit's performance and recommend potential solutions;
  • Prepare financial and operational reports and conduct the required quarterly variance analyses for the business unit in conjunction with the accounting and asset management team;
  • Simulate and analyse the impacts of leasing, acquisition, disposition and other scenarios on the business unit's portfolio and advise the team on portfolio strategies;
  • Identify, evaluate and monitor portfolio risks (e.g., anchor tenant, environmental and leasing risks);
  • Assist the team in preparing and drafting annual business plans and strategic plans;
  • Coordinate select market monitoring activities for portfolio assets and products/markets targeted in the business unit's strategic plan;
  • Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate or computer science;
  • Master's degree in a relevant field or CPA/CFA designation, an asset;
  • Four to seven years of experience in financial analysis, real estate or database administration;
  • High level of proficiency in database management and Excel, including pivot tables and Power Pivot;
  • Familiarity with Argus/Argus Enterprise, an asset;
  • Thorough, detail-oriented and committed to continuous quality and process improvement;
  • Talent for analyzing and summarizing complex information;
  • Ability to perform under pressure within tight deadlines; availability to work flexible hours;
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
