QA Specialist, (Automation)
CS&AD + TWG, a Deloitte business team of one, is looking for a QA Automation Specialist to join our growing team and help us with our mission to help build and grow the most innovative start-ups, scale-ups, and enterprise companies in the world.
What will your typical day look like?
A typical day in the life of a QA Automation Specialist is hard to pin due to the variety of projects we work on and the tasks we get involved in. Below are the most common activities:
- Actively contribute to project rituals (stand-up, sprint planning/retro, client meetings, demo)
- Design, develop execute and maintain automated test cases and required test data
- Analyze failed test cases, diagnose, and implement fixes
- Create and manage bug reports
- Analyze system and business requirements for testability
- Provide estimates for automation work to project leadership
- Track, analyze and communicate test results on a regular basis
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand how new features should be tested and contribute to the automated test
- Collaborate with developers to establish and promote code quality
- Participate in code reviews ensuring all test coverage requirements have been meet
- Support with non-automation testing activities as needed
About the team
Transforms the way organizations define, architect, and build software through agile delivery and tight integration with client engineering teams. The team crafts digital products that are architecturally sound, feature best-in-class UX, are held to the highest standards of Quality Assurance, and meet (or exceed) business outcomes. Engineering also brings expertise in Data Engineering to help clients define a data strategy and develop high value products to support data-driven decision making
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
A QA person’s role is to ensure we deliver a high-quality product. In that sense, it goes beyond identifying and validating issues and functionalities, or ensuring cross-platform/browser support; A lot of a QA member’s work is collaborative in nature and therefore requires a high level of professional skills including:
- Excellent verbal, written and .gif-based communication – and tact
- Passion for software testing and interest in Agile best practices and keen interest in emerging product design and technology trends
- User empathy; able to put yourself in the shoes of clients and end users
- Positive and autonomous self-starter, resourceful enough to unblock yourself when stuck
- Natural mentor and leader who finds pleasure in sharing knowledge with others
Technical expertise
- Experience working in an Agile environment and its corresponding rituals
- Experience using issue tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira and Testrail)
- General knowledge of Accessibility guidelines
- Experience using Git and its command line
- Experience with Continuous Integration systems: Jenkins, Travis, GitLab
- Working knowledge of Docker
- Strong Object-Oriented Design and coding skills
- Strong experience in one or more of the following programming languages/Frameworks: C#, Python, Java and JavaScript (including Node JS and Angular)
- Experience with Browser UI testing frameworks: Cypress.io, TestCafe, CrossBrowserTesting
- Experience with any of the following is a valued asset:
- Experience with test frameworks: Robot, Webdriver.IO, Nightwatch.JS, Protractor
- Experience with Selenium-based automation: Selenium IDE, Selenium RC, Web Driver, Selenium Grid
- Experience with mobile automation testing tools: Appium, Calabash, Espresso, UI Automator, EarlGrey
- Experience with JavaScript testing frameworks: Mocha, Jasmine, Jest
- Experience with BDD using tools like: Cucumber, SpecFlow, JBehave
