The Manager, Risk Management will be responsible for supporting the Consulting practice. The candidate must have, and/or be capable to develop, skills and experience in managing the negotiation and administration of professional services contracts, have an appreciation for the key risk issues inherent in the range of Consulting services and the ability to guide, consult with and influence account and engagement team leaders.

Responsibilities/essential functions.

  • Guidance and support to senior business leaders within the firm
  • Serve as liaison between the Partners, Directors and Senior Managers of the firm and the Office of General Counsel.
  • Responsible for advising practice leadership on potential quality and risk management issues
  • Provide guidance and support on potential risk associated with engagements, risk mitigation strategies, Request for Proposal considerations, and contract formation and negotiations;
  • Facilitate internal compliance with contract terms, risk management policies and procedures, and management directives.

Proposal Support

  • Facilitate engagement review process for higher risk engagements and participates in pricing and risk decisions;
  • Consult, guide and review with firm Partners/Associate Partners on Requests For Proposals, Teaming Agreements, and Non Disclosures Agreements;
  • Conduct Risk Consultations for higher risk engagements prior to proposal submission;
  • Interpret contract requirements and obligations and provides guidance to engagement teams on how to address within their proposal.

Contract Negotiation Support

  • Revie and negotiate professional services contracts with a primary focus on reducing and mitigating delivery and contractual risks associated with the services being provided;
  • Services contracts include but is not limited to Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, Engagement Letters, Professional Services Agreements, and Subcontractor Agreements.
  • Engage and work closely with the Office of General Counsel to accomplish the above.

External Posting Qualifications

  • Post secondary education and 10+ years experience in a related role in a large and complex professional services organization with at least 4 years at the management level
  • Direct contract negotiation experience
  • Ability to evaluate risks associated with large professional service engagements
  • Experience in RFP analysis, including contract terms and conditions
  • Excellent verbal and communication skill with the ability to influence decision making with clients at the executive level
  • Proven ability to negotiate and provide strategic direction to both internal resources and external clients
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment with multiple high-level project demands
  • Must be able to work effectively at a management level – i.e. establish credibility and authority with Firm leadership and client counterparts and work collaboratively to achieve Firm risk and quality objectives
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Experience with complex Information Technology implementation and service contracts would be an asset.
  • French or Spanish would be an asset.
