Key roles and responsibilities

  • Ownership in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting packages, including bank reconciliations, general ledger analysis, and identify required adjusting journal entries.
  • Assist with carrying out HST reconciliations and ensuring HST filings are completed on a timely basis.
  • Prepare Franchisees invoices for their weekly royalties and advertising fee & ensuring payment.
  • Build & maintain good working relationship and communication lines with Franchisees, partners, and vendors.
  • Perform trust accounting duties including the issuance of cheques, processing of wires and reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Provide support in reviewing, overseeing, and managing Franchisee contracts and other legal agreements.
  • Oversee and manage relationships with external accounting firms, in preparation for regulatory reporting and taxation filing such as corporate tax returns, elections, SR&ED, etc.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and yearly performance reports.
  • Forecast and manage cash flow to meet the needs of operations and provide recommendations to better support business decisions.
  • Manage all accounts payable and receivables.
  • Prepare monthly invoices for review, send out approved invoices and following up with vendors accounts payable team as required.
  • Collect Rent and Send Rent payments (CKO2 Holdings Inc.)
  • Verify & Process payroll.
  • Work with corporate store managers and Director of Operations to manage any WSIB claims process and accurate payments.
  • Credit applications, lease negotiations
  • Proactively increase efficiency of the department and practices in finance

You are a strong candidate if you bring the following skills, education and/or background:

  • Post-secondary education or 5+ years of previous accounting experience
  • CPA, CMA, or CGA designation
  • Good working knowledge of best bookkeeping practices
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Proficient in MS Excel and comfortable with various accounting software (Sage)
  • Payroll, personnel, and benefits administration experience an asset
