This position is located in the City of Yellowknife, situated on the Northern shore of Great Slave Lake; Yellowknife is the capital of the Northwest Territories, Canada. The Department of Finance has the mandate to provide leadership and direction to the public service in all areas of finance and human resource management. This mandate includes negotiating major financial arrangements with the federal government, providing analysis and advice to the Financial Management Board, and ensuring that financial and information resources are managed effectively, efficiently and economically.
The Senior Advisor, Financial Policy and Corporate Control position is located in Yellowknife and reports to the Assistant Comptroller General. The incumbent deals directly with Senior Management to formulate and present policy advice and information that bears on the government's financial operations.

These qualifications are typically obtained through a Bachelor's degree in business and the completion, or near completion of an accounting designation plus 4 years of progressive experience including specialized training in policy development.
The salary range for this position is from $50.95 per hour to $60.85 per hour (approximately $99,353 - $118,658 per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
