Role Summary:

We currently have an opening for an accountable, self-directed individual with a positive attitude to join our Internal Audit team in the position of Internal Auditor in our Moncton office.

Reporting to the Chief Internal Auditor, the successful candidate will work closely with other departments within the organization to provide assurance that key risks are being managed effectively and to improve processes and offer innovative solutions that will improve organizational performance.

As an Internal Auditor your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Perform and develop reviews of policies and procedures using a risk-based methodology;
  • Document, evaluate, and test controls to determine their existence, adequacy, effectiveness, and continuity;
  • Identify and analyze findings to develop recommendations to:
    • Enhance efficiency and effectiveness of operations
    • Improve the reliability and integrity of information
    • Assist management in accomplishing their objectives
    • Safeguard assets
    • Assist in compliance with laws, regulations, contracts, policies and procedures
  • Summarize in written reports the findings, recommendations, and management’s corrective actions;
  • Monitor the status of audit recommendations through follow-up activity to ensure management has implemented the agreed upon corrective action;
  • Build and maintain professional relationships across the organization;
  • Remain current through an ongoing commitment to participation in learning and development;
  • Develop and maintain audit skills and insurance industry knowledge;
  • Perform unique one-time tasks as assigned by the Manager.

As the ideal candidate, you possess the following Qualifications:


Post-secondary education in business, commerce, or a related field or have equivalent experience coupled with a strong desire to learn;

Work Experience:

2-5 years previous audit and insurance industry experience would be an asset

Other Qualifications:

Professional designation (CIA, CA, CMA, and CGA) would be an asset

Computer Skills:

Strong working knowledge of technology tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Language Skills:

Bilingualism would be considered an asset in this position.
