Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Public Markets, the Coordinator, Public Markets Administration is responsible for performing a wide range of technical and administrative support functions for the department as well as leading other administrative department staff.
This position provides support to both the Public Equities and the Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange Departments. The Public Equities Department manages an equity portfolio of approximately $60 billion utilizing both index and active management strategies. The Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange Department manages fixed income assets, alternative investment strategies and currency exposure for bcIMC. Public Equities and Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange together form the Public Markets asset class at bcIMC.
Five years office experience, preferably in the financial industry, complemented by related formal training and education
Office management and supervisory experience
Strong communication skills
Intermediate level skills using PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Word
Inclination to take initiative and responsibility for their work and perform as a team player
Initiative to learn and understand the public markets investment industry
Familiar with investment management software
Completion of the Canadian Securities Course or equivalent
