Insurance Specialist, Call Centre

This position is responsible for providing customers with insurance quotes and complete transactions; providing insurance coverage that best suits the customers needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Initiate conversations with customers regarding all products sold by Insurance Services.
    • Determine needs of customers.
    • Explain products and services to customers.
    • Complete sales transactions.
  • Able to generate sales using effective selling techniques, cross selling insurance products, effective merchandising to create extra sales opportunities and meet sales targets/objectives.
  • Seek opportunities to grow the business within the local market and work with the Department Manager and the Business Unit to develop initiatives.
  • Provide assistance, answer questions or problem solve any issues with customers.
  • Satisfy customer complaints or work with Department Manager, Call Centre Insurance and Warranty to do so.
  • Contact customers for follow-up.
  • Obtain home insurance expiry dates from existing and call-in customers.
  • Follow-up on assigned referral/expiry date business, working to quote and close.
  • Keep up to date on new products and information relating to the insurance industry.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Hold a Level I or II insurance license.
  • Knowledge of desktop PCs and Windows-based operating systems, including a proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Familiar with Call Centre operations and best practices
  • Past experience in insurance sales and brokerage operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products, including Personal Lines and related product offering, services and regulations.

This role is Regular Part-Time, where employees are scheduled a minimum of 1456 hours per year (28-40 hours per week) Applicants must be available to work a flexible schedule, Monday to Sunday.
