Do you have a curiosity for solving cross-border tax problems and continuous learning? The Deloitte Tax team is growing its US and cross-border personal tax practice and is looking for professionals who want a challenging and rewarding career.

What will your typical day look like?

In this role, you will work with local, regional, national and global Deloitte colleagues to meet the needs of our clients. You will be exposed to a variety of assignments with a focus on tax planning and transactional work for individuals, shareholders, trusts and estates with connections to both Canada and the United States. You will develop a deep understanding of the Canadian and US domestic tax laws and the relevant Canada-US Income Tax Convention provisions to apply to particular facts and circumstances. You will also be proactive in anticipating client needs and provide valuable tax solutions and planning strategies using your research, analytical and written communication skills.

About the team

This is a national team that works with high profile clients specifically, high net worth individuals and their families both in Canada and globally. As a part of this team you will be exposed to Canadian and US tax, with a focus on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional income tax compliance, planning, and estate planning.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone who:
• Has minimum 2 years of tax experience in a Public Accounting Firm
• Experience working with professional athletes and enjoys tax compliance
• Has a Canadian CPA, US CPA or foreign designation or program enrollment; Master's degree in Tax is an asset; Enrolled in the In-depth Tax Course is an asset
• Experienced with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations, project profitability and team leadership
• Superior English verbal and written communication skills
